Free Fishers of Men Bible Study
Matthew 4:19
And He said to them, "Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men."
God wants nothing except US. This single desire of His is the reason He created everything. His desire is YOU!
That should make every one of us smile. When your heart aligns with God's heart, you too will have a desire for people.
The closer you walk with Him, the stronger that desire grows for people. Remember the old hymn:
Turn your eyes upon Jesus,
Look full in His wonderful face, and...
Then, do you remember what happens next? The things of this world grow strangely dim. People are eternal and basically everything else is temporary. God only has eyes for the eternal, as should we.
Jesus said it this way in John 13:14:
"If I then, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another's feet."
Somewhere in your busy day, try to find some quiet time and ask God what these verses are to look like when applied to your life.
Psalm 139:23-4:
"Search me, O God, and know my heart!
Try me and know my thoughts!
And see if there be any grievous way in me,
and lead me in the way everlasting!"
